my role

Everything: product, design, branding, build and social

this project shows

Taking an idea from PRD to a live product, AI-assisted prototyping, brand and visual design, building on a real backend (Supabase), and designing for a problem I live with.

Product

For the Shared Experience is a community calendar for Toronto's running scene. It gathers runs, races and community events in one place, with no algorithm, just what's worth showing up for. A photo album directory keeps the moments we've shared. It's also an experiment: in early 2026, I used it to test how far Figma Make could take a project from idea to launch.

Why

By fall 2025, doomscrolling had left me distracted and disconnected, so I went offline. One week became months, and I felt calmer and more present. The catch was FOMO, because so much of my running community lives on Instagram. I built this calendar to stay connected without the feed. One less reason to scroll.

the process

I started by writing a PRD. Figma Make built the first prototype from it, kept plain on purpose so the structure came before the look. From there, I designed the visual style and branding and set up Supabase to manage event entries. I also ran the project's Instagram account. It's ironic, but Instagram is still where runners find things, so the account's job is to point people back to the calendar, not keep them on the feed.
